Right. The video of him saying what he said is fabricated. Only in Palin-land.

  1. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Great judge of character, those conservatives. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

  2. meursault1942 says:

Nice job, watson–some really great stuff in here. It is amusing watching conservatives try to play both sides of the fence on this one. “OK, that sort of racism is bad…but he’s also completely correct about how black people had it better under slavery.”

And then, to cap it all off, conservatives end up in that lovely cycle wherein they insist that the reason black people don’t tend to vote Republican is because blacks are the REAL racists, and besides, they’re either too greedy for welfare programs (that only temporarily embarrassed millionaire white people deserve) or are too stupid to understand that they’ve been “bought” and “enslaved” by said welfare programs. Keep up the good work, wingnuts!

  3. Marner says:

Budy is done and over with now that his true face has been shown. Hell, when Rand Paul calls you a racist piece of shit, you know its over.

With that, I give you John Stewart’s epic takedown of Hannity’s Bundy fellatio (The first 10 minutes or so of the episode):

    http://thedailyshow.cc.com/full-episodes/jxvcqy/april-23–2014—robin-roberts

    • That was a great takedown by Jon Stewart.

By the way, does this sound like anyone we know?

You speak, I believe, of the oh-too-common TPS, or Teeny Peeny Syndrome, which I believe is also manifested in displays of anonymous arrogance and attack, in which the sufferer can create the illusion (in his own mind, anyway) of testosterone overload, while hiding behind avatars and flimsy pseudo-arguments and depending on petty sniping. The contrast between the illusion and reality is never obvious to the TPS sufferer, though it certainly is to observers.

  4. By the way, somebody mentioned that neo and company have been quite over at b4v. They have a new playground: http://viewsfromtherightside.wordpress.com

    • meursault1942 says:

Boy, Count sure is a prissy little bitch, isn’t he? No wonder he and Amazona are up each other’s asses.

I stand by what I said about GMB when he first came over to APN, though: I respect him for his principles because they actually are real principles, not the situational bullshit Mark, Amazona, Spook, etc. try to pass off as principles. Shame he’s had to throw in his lot with neocon and Jeremiah.

  5. Get a load of the unhinged screed by bitter old man Spook over at bfv. It’s very long but basically boils down to a single sentence: “Liberals are poopypants, conservatives rule!” His wordy, howlingly boring list of straw men is completely devoid of fact and reason, and depressingly trite. Of course, he winds up by vowing to lay his life down to protect the Republic from the perils of…zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

    • Spook said, “So I ask my former friends and acquaintances on the Left — common ground?”

Is he inviting us to respond? Do you think a courteous response would be met with courtesy? If I find the time, I will put that question to the test.

  6. 02casper says:

My take on the first part of Spook’s list

The fundamental transformation of America and the fundamental restoration of America.

The country is changing whether you like it or not and what would you restore it to?

The belief that some people can neither handle nor deserve freedom, and the belief that the yearning for freedom is an inherent part of the human spirit.

I believe in the the second one.

The belief that America is the greatest force for freedom and prosperity in the world, and the belief that America is the source of most of the evil and misery in the world.

I believe that America is the greatest force for freedom and prosperity, but I also realize it’s far from perfect.

Doing what’s right all of the time, regardless of the consequences and doing what’s right only when doing so yields personal or political benefits.
Always telling the truth and ignoring the truth when it has negative political or personal consequences.

Two things I’ve always believed in

Voting for someone because you’re confident they will honor their oath to uphold the Constitution and voting for someone because you’re confident they will ignore or subvert the parts of the Constitution that you don’t like.

I don’t know of anyone who has ever voted for someone they think will subvert the Constitution.

    Case law and original interpretation.

    Who’s original interpretation?

    Morality and moral relativism.

    I’ve always been for morality.

Learning from history and re-writing history to fit an agenda.

I think both sides sometimes try to rewrite history, although I think your side is much better at it.

Dwelling on what’s good about America as opposed to dwelling on what’s bad about America.

I like to dwell on the good. This blog seems to dwell on the bad.

Seems we agree on a number of points and disagree on others. Funny, I haven’t felt the need to push any of my conservative friends away, nor have they stopped talking to me.

    • Okay, let’s see if you receive a courteous response.

    • meursault1942 says:

“Funny, I haven’t felt the need to push any of my conservative friends away, nor have they stopped talking to me.”

Ditto. Which cuts to the real heart of the matter: The problem isn’t some unbridgeable liberal/conservative divide. The problem is that people like Mark, Spook, and Amazona are at once insufferable assholes and extremely thin-skinned partisans whose dependence on a protective bubble has become so extreme that they are now unable to even be around people who disagree with them. The real world is just too much for them to bear, apparently.

  7. 02casper says:

Looks like CSL is up. I got a a several thousand word response, all nasty.

    • Yes, I think we got our answer. Good grief. I kept scrolling. And scrolling. And scrolling. To get past her diatribes. Does she think that anyone will read all that? If you did, Casper, you are a good man. I will be out for a while today, but I may respond–very politely–when I get back.

    • meursault1942 says:

Ooooh, let me take a wild guess how it went!

She warms up with a couple paragraphs about what a terrible person casper is, probably including a bit about how awful “personal attacks” are. Then she moves on to calling casper a liar and claiming that he doesn’t really believe what he says he believes due to the following logic: “Liberals” (aka the straw men CSL has created because they’re the only things hse can successfully argue against) don’t believe X; casper is a liberal; therefore casper doesn’t believe X. She’ll beat on that logic for a thousand words or so, beating the shit out of the straw man as a way to avoid having to face reality. Then she’ll get into her “he hasn’t clearly thought through his political position, it’s all EMOTION!!!!!” schtick, which is her version of spook’s “I’m ready to lay down my life in Civil War II, which is definitely right around the corner!” schtick. Sprinkle a heaping helping of projection (particularly about the wrongness of personal attacks and about how she’s totally calm and logical and it’s everybody else who’s an emotional wreck) throughout the whole thing, drizzle a complete lack of self-awareness on top, maybe throw in a made-up story about a conversation she had with a person who doesn’t exist, and voila!

      • 02casper says:

        Meursault,
Thanks for the summery, now i don’t have to wade through all her crap. I’m guessing that in her case, it’s not that she doesn’t want to talk to libs, it’s much more likely that they don’t want to talk to her.

      • mitchethekid says:

Yeah! Duck soup! Maybe she should be the topic of a sketch on SNL

  8. Spook:

Conservatives generally like rules — Liberals don’t. Rules provide structure, stability and cohesiveness and stand in the way of doing something in the moment that hasn’t been well thought out — an accurate description of many, if not most liberal ideas if I ever heard one.

I would argue it’s conservatives who have a disdain for rules. Last I checked, regulations are “rules”. But I guess these issues are pretty flexible to an unthoughtful hypocrite. One’s left to assume that in Spook’s world, mandating unnecessary, invasive transvaginal ultrasounds = Good Rule. Restricting the amount of poison a filthy rich conglomerate can pump into our water and atmosphere = Bad Rule.
